FOLAKE FANI KAYODE

Folake Fani- Kayode was born in London U.K. in 1987. She was christened Oluwafolakemi (which means “the Lord has bestowed upon me great splendour”) ,Aisha, Naa Orkarkai, Fani-Kayode. She is the first daughter of Chief Femi Fani -Kayode who is a Nigerian lawyer and politician and was the Special Assistant (Public Affairs) to President Olusegun Obasanjo of Nigeria (2003-2006), the Minister of Culture and Tourism (2006) and the Minister of Aviation (2006-2007) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Her mother , Miss Saratu Atta was married to Femi Fani-Kayode but they were later divorced. She is a Ghanaian politician (she is the Sec. Gen. of the Nana Addo Akuffo Addo for President Campaign Organization in Ghana ) and a business woman.
Saratu Atta is half Ghanaian and half Nigerian. Folake Fani-Kayode’s maternal grandfather is Alhaji Adamu Attah , the Governor of Kwara State (1979-1983) in northern Nigeria. Her paternal grandfather was Chief Remilekun Fani-Kayode ,the Deputy Premier of the Western Region of Nigeria and the Minister of Local Government Affairs for the West (1963-1966).
